PSHE at Parkfields
Personal, Social, Health Education
At Parkfields we strive to create a school environment that is inclusive of everyone, irrespective of race or culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation, background or personal circumstances. We believe in equality of opportunity and we aim to ensure an inclusive school environment.
Good relationships are a core principle at Parkfields and we expect every member of the school to take responsibility for supporting the value of equality, by showing consideration for all.
These principles are at the heart of our PSHE curriculum. Pupils learn about health and wellbeing, careers, living in the wider world and healthy relationships.
The PSHE curriculum provides a platform to explore and understand British Values, such as respect for individual liberty, the rule of law, mutual respect and tolerance.
Relationship, Sex and Health Education is taught as part of the school’s PSHE programme. The school is a member of the PSHE Association. The association is grant-funded by the Department for Education and they advise schools on how to develop their own PSHE curriculums and improve the quality of teaching. The association focuses on signposting schools to age-appropriate resources created by experts.
