Attendance at Parkfields
Absence
Please use absence@parkfieldsschool.co.uk in all instances.
Please do not use other email addresses.
Although email is preferred, absence can be reported via phone call.
An absence notification must be made to the school on every day of the absence.
Leave of Absence
The Leave of Absence form is available to download from the ‘Family’ tab.
This should be completed and emailed to the school to absence@parkfieldsschool.co.uk
The form should be completed at least 6 weeks prior to the leave starting.
Any absence that is authorised by the Headteacher must be under ‘exceptional circumstances’.
Appointments
If a child has a medical appointment, an email should be sent to the absence email address.
The email should include a copy of the appointment notification - either physical or screenshot.
Punctuality and Lateness
If your child is late to school for any reason, they must sign in at the office (as they will have missed registration ).
This is especially important as in the event of a fire all pupils and staff must be accounted for.
If a child is regularly late there is a direct impact on their learning and sense of belonging.
It can be tricky deciding whether or not to keep your child off school when they're unwell.
There are government guidelines for schools about health protection and managing specific infectious diseases at GOV.UK. These say when children should be kept off school and when they shouldn't.
If you do keep your child at home, it's important to phone the school on the first day. Let them know that your child won't be in and give them the reason.
If your child is well enough to go to school but has an infection that could be passed on, such as a cold sore or head lice, let their teacher know.
