Parkfields V's Alameda
By Cameron C
Parkfields 16 Alameda 12.
Last Tuesday Parkfields went to Alameda to play them at basketball. After a quick warm up Mr Hughes told us how he wanted us to play. After the tip off the game began we didn’t start off to well but managed to fight back to end the first quarter 6-6 from their we kept our rhythm and kept the lead despite a late push from Alameda we ran out 16-12 winners. After the game we thought we could improve on our efficiency and we certainly did in our next match. Parkfields 29 Pixbrook 12. After a quick warm up we got into the game, again we didn’t have the best start but this time we had the lead going into the second and from there we didn’t look back mainly due to some brilliant defence and the 23 points that Chris scored by himself. Well done to all the boys who played Chris, Oren, Ralph, Cameron, Fin, Gabe, Ollie, Henry and Jack.
Year 7 Basketball v Marston Vale
Parkfields year 7 boys played in their first ever basketball match this week. The boys have been working hard at lunchtime practice and were very excited at having an opportunity to play against another school. Marston Vale were a taller side than us which certainly helped them and they got off to the faster start in the opening quarter.
We found ourselves 8-0 at half time but were definitely feeling our way into the game. In the third quarter we began to win more rebounds and the shooting of Theo O was superb as he bagged two baskets in quick succession to keep us in contact. In the end, Marston were just the better team on the day but the boys worked hard, will benefit from the experience and we will continue to practice in preparation for our next game. Well done to all the boys who took part on the day.

Year 7 Basketball v Arnold
Arnold 35 - 8 Parkfields
By Sam Dobbs
We left school determined and excited to try to get our first basketball win. We arrived at Arnold raring to go and win. We started the game strongly but then we conceded two baskets. Luckily, Sam managed to pull one back but unfortunately we lost the first quarter. Sadly, it was downhill for the rest of the game apart from baskets from Matthew H and Darragh KH as the game finished 35-8. Well done to all of the boys who played and the man of the match was Matthew for his great influence on the game and two amazing baskets.

Year 8 Basketball v Arnold
Parkfields 30 - 17 Arnold
This was another super win at Arnold as the boys continued where they left off at Etonbury two weeks ago. Baskets were fairly easy to come by through the rebounding of Miles W and the execution of lay-ups from Charlie W and Jamie B. Everyone played their part in a convincing win. The next game is crucial as we face the might of RBA, but the boys are in good form and in good spirits. Well done to all those who took part.

Year 7 Basketball v Robert Bloomfield
RBA 28 - 2 Parkfields
By Sam Dobbs
We set out to try to win our first game of basketball. After a long drive to RBA we started the first quarter well but sadly conceded a few baskets. In the second quarter we continued to look like a great team but we just couldn’t score and kept on conceding. This carried on for the rest of the third quarter except for a brilliant basket from Luis. Unfortunately, the last quarter didn’t go to plan and we lost 28-2. Well done to everyone who played and the star player was Luis for his basket.
