Governance at Parkfields

The Governing Body is comprised of parents, staff and members of the community. They work in a strategic role with the staff as 'critical friends' to monitor all aspects of the school's life: its ethos, curriculum, teaching, sports, arts, staffing, finance, premises, quality of school dinners, plus plenty more areas of school life. It's a great way to get involved at Parkfields.

Chair of Governors

Our Chair of Governors is Mr. Phil Parry and can be contacted via Mrs Reynolds or Mrs Leopold in the School Office - schooladmin@parkfieldsschool.co.uk. Should you need to contact them, please ensure you have followed the process below.

Please ensure the Pyramid Schools Trust Complaints Policy is followed when contacting the Chair of Governors with a complaint. This can be found on this website under the Our School tab; Policies page then Trust Policies.

A complaint must be made at stage one and two before it is made to the Chair of Governors.

Stage one – Informal concern made to a member of staff.

Stage two – Formal complaint made to the headteacher.

Any complaints made straight to stage three will be directed back to stage one or two as relevant.

A summary of this process is below:

Stage One - Informal complaint - An informal complaint may be made in person, by telephone or in writing; however, it is preferred that initial, informal complaints are made via an in-person meeting.

Stage Two - Formal complaint - Formal complaints must be made in writing to the school.

Stage Three - Chair of Governors - The complaint is made to the Chair of Governors, having followed stages one and two.

Stage Four - Governor Panel Hearing - If the complainant is dissatisfied with the outcome of the complaint before referred to the Chair of the Local Governing Committee, and wishes to take the matter further, they can request to progress to a Governor Panel Hearing.
