Ordinarily Available Provision at Parkfields

At Parkfields, we believe that every child deserves to feel successful in the classroom. Ordinarily Available Provision (OAP) is the toolkit of support and strategies that we provide to all pupils as part of our standard, inclusive offering, though we remain mindful that not all pupils will require all of these adaptations. Where specific needs exist, these are clearly highlighted through Individual Learning Plans. Our teachers serve as the first line of support, adopting a child-centred approach that utilises adaptive teaching to ensure every lesson is accessible. This involves breaking instructions into small chunks supported by visual cues and repetition, while ensuring that classroom support is strategically planned to maximise learning and promote long-term independence. Crucially, we view behaviour as communication and always work in close partnership with families, sharing successes and asking questions to ensure a consistent support network. The goal of OAP at Parkfields is to empower the majority of our pupils to thrive without needing formal specialist labels. By providing proactive, high-quality support every day, we ensure that extra help is simply a normal, expected part of our school day.
